Our Story
Bridging the Gap Books was born from a desire to share the deep, character-building lessons of Japanese culture with Western children. As a multicultural family, we wanted to create stories that teach universal values like patience, respect, and kindness—values learned early in Japanese schools, but told through stories any child can enjoy. Our founding team includes a U.S. Air Force veteran who lived in Japan for several years and a native Japanese speaker with experience in language education and personal. Together, they bring cultural insight, discipline, and a passion for cross-cultural communication into every book.
